Walpack Township Committee Meeting Minutes:
June 24, 2014
Mayor Maglio called the meeting of the Walpack Township Committee to order at 7 p.m. stating this meeting was being held in compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act having been duly advertised.
Present: Committeeman Heigis, Committeewoman Wycalek, and Mayor Maglio
Also in attendance: Michelle LaStarza
Committeeman Heigis made a motion to approve the minutes of May 27, 2014 seconded by Committeewoman Wycalek and unanimously carried.
Michelle LaStarza presented the treasurer’s report and bills list for approval. Committeewoman Wycalek made a motion to approve the bills to be paid seconded by Committeeman Heigis and unanimously carried. The following bills were approved for payment:

Craig Hutchenson of Kittatinny Regional High School presented the committee with a brief presentation regarding the budget and projects at the school. The school is striving to remain in the top 100 schools in the state. Projects for this year include new generator, hot water heater, front vestibule, fencing, and resurfacing of the driveway.
The clerk stated a renewal contract for the storage of a saw was forwarded for signature and proof of insurance.
All committee members received a preliminary dispatching agreement for comments. Discussion will be held at the next regularly scheduled meeting.
Mayor Maglio read the following ordinance:
WALPACK TOWNSHIP
ORDINANCE RESCINDING 2011 ORDINANCE FOR DEMOLITION OF MUNICIAL
GARAGE AND APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $10,000.00
FOR THE IMPROVEMENTS TO BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS
BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the Township Committee of the Township of Walpack, County of Sussex, State of New Jersey as rescinds 2011 Ordinance for Demolition of Municipal Garage and:
BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the Township Committee of the Township of Walpack, County of Sussex, State of New Jersey as follows:
SECTION 1: The sum of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) presently located in the General Capital Fund is hereby appropriated for the improvements to buildings and grounds from the Reserve for Improvements to Municipal Building, General Capital Fund:
Improvements to Buildings and Grounds:
$10,000.00
SECTION 2: In connection with the amount authorized in Section 1 hereof, the Township makes the following determinations:
1) The purpose described in Section 1 hereof is not a Current Expense and is a purchase the Township of Walpack may lawfully make as a capital purchase.
2) The period of usefulness of the purpose described in Section 1 hereof is not in the limitation of said Local Bond law and according to the aggregate reasonable life thereof is five (5) years or longer.
SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances which are inconsistent with the terms of this ordinance be and the same hereby repealed to the extent of their inconsistency.
SECTION 4: This ordinance becomes effective immediately upon publication after adoption.

NOTICE
is hereby given that the above ordinance was introduced and passed upon first
reading at a meeting of the Mayor and Committee of the Township of Walpack, in
the County of Sussex, New Jersey, held on the 24thth day of June 2014. It will
be further considered for final passage after public hearing at a meeting of the
Mayor and Committee to be held in the Municipal Building, Walpack Center,
Walpack, New Jersey, on August 26, 2014, at 7:00 P.M., and during the preceding
week copies of the ordinance will be made available at the Clerk's office in the
Municipal Building to members of the general public.

There being no one in attendance and no further business to discuss, Committeeman Heigis made a motion to adjourn seconded by Committeewoman Wycalek. The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
